15: The Conversion of Charles Manson

Charles Manson (right) being escorted to the courtroom by a sheriff’s deputy (August 11, 1970)

It’s sad to say, but depending on your age, names like; Ted Bundy, David Berkowitz, Jeffrey Dahmer, or John Wayne Gacy are household names. If those don’t ring a bell, how about The Zodiac Killer, The Son of Sam, BTK, or Jack the Ripper. The media has given murderers far too much attention and like moths to a flame, we are drawn to their stories with a misguided sense of curiosity.

One of the most famous of these killers passed away this past Sunday. Charles Manson died on November 19th, 2017 in a hospital in California. Learning over the years what he’s done, why he did it, the control over people and what he’s convinced them to do (for decades), along with the photo’s of him in the press, it’s easy to think this guy is the epitome of evil.

So the topic we cover in this podcast is, on the heels of the death of Charles Manson have you ever considered praying for the conversion of such a soul? Give it a listen and let us know what you think by email or in the comments section below.

We were blessed to have Noah’s father, Scott Wilson, record with us to tell us the single greatest story you might ever here.

12: Technology & It’s Affect on the Youth (Podcast)

Cable, Satellite, Netflix, Hulu, Xbox, PlayStation, Social Media, Phones, Computers, Tablets, Laptops, DVD Players

How much “screen time” do your kids have with those things each day? Once we tracked it over the course of a couple days, it’s a lot more than one might think.

When do they have this screen time? If it’s first thing in the morning, or worse yet, before bed…that might be the cause of sleep issues.

How has today’s technology affected our youth? How does that relate to their relationship with God? And, as parents, is it our fault?

11: Mission Statements

“I began writing what they call a mission statement. Not a memo, a mission statement. You know, a suggestion for the future of our company.” Jerry Maguire

In the movie Jerry Maguire, Jerry (Tom Cruise’s character) has an epiphany about what he’s doing with his life, when it comes to his job. But after watching the movie you could say his mission statement was about his life, not only his job.

In this podcast episode, Justin and I discuss mission statements of some of the more notable Christians today along with the idea of “What is your Spiritual Mission Statement?” What does it mean to have one? How do you develop one? We hope you enjoy the episode, God Bless, and thanks for listening.

Spiritual Dryness – Episode 10

Our faith journey, a lot of times, is referenced to as our “path”.  However, in reality, it can feel more like that of a roller coaster.  The high’s and low’s can last days, weeks, months, and sometimes years.  Most of the time, our high’s seem short lived, while the lows can drag out to what seems forever.

Expect It & Dealing With It

So when you hit that low, that Spiritual Dryness, do you have any particular way you climb out of it? Justin and Dan explore ways to even out that roller coaster and get back to a path…a nice even path!

We hope you enjoy!
